"One of the great liabilities of history is that all too many people fail to remain awake through great periods of social change. Every society has its protectors of status quo and its fraternities of the indifferent who are notorious for sleeping through revolutions. Today, our very survival depends on our ability to stay awake, to adjust to new ideas, to remain vigilant and to face the challenge of change." - Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Dr. King was brilliant. Yeah, we know some white Americans aren't fans. Jacques Barack says, don't be a hater. And don't you think if we had left Dr. King's name off of that quote and put Thomas Jefferson instead you would have thought it was ole TJ hisself? You would have been all like, Yeah kill them damn British! Death to Tyrants! Don't tread on me! Let's have a Tea Party! Nuff said.
We at Jacques Barack have warned you all that we must change Alexandria now. All of us. Not black, not white, not Indian, etc. Things are bad now. We all need a better future. See the following links for our earlier posts:
If you haven't already, you should really read those posts. We are entering a new phase in our mission at Jacques Barack. We need your help. No, we ain't asking for money. It's time to take this to the streets people! And the white peoples don't need to worry about folk marching in their neighbor. No. This is 2010. We got telephones. We got the internet.
In the comings weeks, Jacques Barack is going to ask our loyal readers to take back city hall. Again, no worries about marching. Jacques Barack wants y'all to get involved. Hey, most of it is as simple as making a phone call. If you can laugh with Jacques Barack, we think its not too much to ask you to make a phone call. Is it?
